The importance of friction materials in brake pads
The importance of friction materials in brake pads:
1. Friction material
The friction material is undoubtedly the core part of the entire brake pad, and the formula of its friction material directly affects the braking performance and braking comfort of the friction pad (with or without noise and vibration). At present, friction materials are mainly divided into three categories according to the formula: semi-metallic materials, NAO materials (non-asbestos organic materials) and ceramic materials.
2. Insulation layer
During the braking process of the vehicle, due to the high-speed friction between the brake pads and the brake disc, a large amount of heat is generated in an instant. If the heat is directly transferred to the metal back plate of the brake pads, the brake cylinder may overheat, which may cause brakes in severe cases. The hydrodynamic fluid generates air resistance. Therefore, there is a design of a thermal insulation layer between the friction material and the metal back plate. After the brake pads undergo high temperature and high pressure ablation, it will shorten the running-in period of the new brake pads and the original brake discs, and can effectively isolate the high temperature of braking, thereby maintaining a stable braking safety distance and braking comfort.
3. One-time hot pressing
The brake pad adopts one-time forming and hot pressing technology to ensure the stability of the product's hardness, density and other indicators. The safety factor is higher to protect the safety of car owners at all times. 4. Backplane
The function of the back plate is to support the overall structure of the friction material, and to transmit the braking force of the brake cylinder, so that the friction material of the brake pad and the brake disc are efficiently joined. The back plate of the brake pad has the following characteristics:
